[edit] Feature List note for next version

  1. Option for Hyperlinks to open in the same window
  2. Option to set Music to Loop
  3. Option to Turn Off Random Effects completely for an account
  4. Fix Frame Order bug
  5. Movie -> Remove Movie Background option removes the Movie Background as well as the Background Music (if added) - need to fix this. Also, need better options for managing Music feature since many customers are confused how to add/remove music
  6. Toufee User Guide - Need to discuss with San/Nav
  7. Add scrolling banner effect that constanly moves from right to left or left to right just like in the following website: http://www.titleboxing.com/
  8. When a image or a text object is added to a frame and later deleted, Toufee still maintains the reference to it (e.g. TControl63) in the Timing (Expert Only) options
  9. It would be better if objects (images or texts) are named after their filename instead of TControlXX since this would make easier to identify when working with many text or images in a single project
  10. Whenever a movie is set to loop, it does not smoothly flow over to the first frame, instead, there is a definite stop/start lag that is noticeable (ticket ID 1996)
  11. Need to check if Change Frame Order works correctly
  12. Sometimes, the frame is not selected on the first click when clicking on it in the filmstrip
  13. Some flash movies that have embedded video in it do not play properly or do not play at all when converted to AVI format. Confirmed with Nav that this is a codec issue. Need to fix this in the upcoming version (Reference ticket ID 1827)
  14. Send to a friend link does not work
  15. Support for aGIF
  16. Remove the clock-spinning icon for background loading if possible or replace it with better one. Some customer feel its annoying.
  17. Add hyperlinks to entire frame/movie and not to individual objects (Ticket 2101)
  18. Request for Spin effect on vertical axis effect (Ticket 2163)
  19. Voice recording option as in AVR
  20. Option to have a rolling banner effect like in

http://www.bean-and-beluga.de/deutsch/philosphie.html

  1. option to save custom colors in the palette

[edit] Issues outside of Toufee application

  1. Paid customers still receive emails to upgrade their account
  2. PayPal automatically cancels subscription...I understand nothing much could be done about this but just wanted to keep this noted
  3. Do not email paid customers (who already are on a subscription plan) on new promotions
  4. Using Toufee as a network site for connecting graphic designers and clients
  5. Export to FLA option

[edit] Heidi Allen feedback

I'd fix the problem and then another random component would start misbehaving. Often, there was nothing in the settings to explain the strange behavior. I'd just change something and then change it back. Usually, the problem would be gone. Sometimes the problem would fix itself if I left it alone for a few days.

When I couldn't fix the problem, I'd log out, delete my cookies, cache and history, shut down the computer, wait 10 minutes or so, and then start everything up again. This seemed to have no effect on the strange behavior.

I use an Intel Duo Core 2 Macbook Pro with 4GBs of RAM and the latest version of Leopard. I use Toufee with the latest version of the Safari browser. I tried using Firefox, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

I used the Disk Utility to repair any errors on my hard drive, but that also had no effect. I wasn't able to test Toufee on a Windows PC.

I fought with the random setting changes for a couple of months. Then, I started downloading an SWF after every single change that I made, hoping to capture my movie before another random change occurred. At roughly my 31st download, I finally got a version that's as close as I think I'll ever get to what I wanted.

In an earlier email, you said that the timing value for some objects cannot be set to "when frame x ends". However, this is the default timing value for all the components (objects?) that I used. It worked fine until I changed some components to custom timing and then tried to switch back.

Per your instructions, I tried using the timing slider below the problem frames to fix this, but got odd results. The actual timing didn't match the seconds shown. For example, for a frame that displays for 8 seconds, an image was set to display 3 seconds after the frame loaded, and then to unload at 5 seconds. 3 plus 5 equals 8.

But the image would still be there when the frame unloaded. I finally got it to work by setting the slider to 3 seconds of display time for the image. Of course, that doesn't make any sense mathematically. (3 plus 3 equals 8?)

Lastly, I have a feature suggestion. Most of the timing options only allow for 1 second increments. In a movie, a full second can be a long time. Advanced users could get much more creative in their editing if they had half second increments available to them.

Thanks again for all your help, patience and for enabling me to finally get a copy of my 2007 Holiday Card movie. Some of my relatives had wanted a copy to keep, and now I can give them one.
